New Rap About The University Of Texas Is A Little Too Much For Me To Handle
Yeah, I know I’ve been flooding your timelines with a lot of UT news recently, and I apologize. It’s not my intent to fill your feeds with strictly burnt orange content, but I couldn’t help but share this weird-ass rap video, “Put’em Up” by some Texas ZBT.
What the hell is going on here? Is this good music? Is this what the kids want to listen to? I’d dismiss this as just some wannabe rapper capitalizing on a fan-base that loves to see its name in lights, but this guy must be somewhat legit because he somehow got the whole football team to participate in his video, which has a production value that exceeds the norm for typical college rappers. I don’t know a lot about music (I don’t have a Spotify account and my iPod only has ‘George Strait: Live at the Astrodome’ on it), but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that rapping isn’t for everyone.
Some college rappers are talented, but I’d guess that a majority of them are beyond terrible. Remember this dude from Florida State?
Holy shit that was awful. I only know one person who had anything nice to say about this FSU rap star Wes Walker, and that is office contrarian Dan Regester. The rest of us thought our ears were bleeding after listening to his garbage “music.”
We need to address the epidemic going on all around us: bad college rappers making high quality music videos. If you, or someone you love, knows somebody who is white, middle class or above, in college and trying to rap professionally, please sit them down and have a talk with them about priorities. 99 percent of the time they are going to produce utter dog-shit, so crush their dreams with ease. They will thank you one day..
Fuck you Steve. Fuck you
