No Human Being Has Ever Been Happier Than Tom Izzo On The Judge Mathis Show

I couldn’t, in a million years, begin to tell you why Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo is sitting in on a taping of the Judge Mathis Show, but here we are. Judge Greg Mathis, for those of you who don’t know, is basically the male version of Judge Judy. Both make their hay with shitty daytime television geared toward old folks barely hanging on in nursing homes. Think poor man’s Price is Right mixed with Law And Order re-runs with less glamor and more scandal. That’s why an appearance by Tom Izzo and his shit-eating grin on the show is so oddly perfect.

Just smile, Tom. Smile and wave.

Look, to each coach their own. Some recruit players the traditional way by visiting their high schools and homes. Other “cool” coaches use social media to lure recruits. Then there’s Izzo ‘n’ Co. — the elite few that don’t have to do jack shit and can still convince you to come play for them. Hell, look at Lane Kiffin’s beautiful Twitter account for example. Uncharacteristic of a college football coach? Yes. Effective? Most definitely.

Whether Izzo was there for business or pleasure, it doesn’t matter. That man’s having the time of his life watching Judge Mathis work and no win this year will top his appearance on that show..
