Notre Dame Football Sent Recruits A #PotOfGold: 477 Pieces Of Mail At Once
Deemed the #PotOfGold, a ridiculous recruiting tactic has just been unleashed by Notre Dame Football. In an attempt to convey the program’s storied track record of landing players in the NFL, Brian Kelly and his staff have started mailing out 477 individual pieces of mail to their recruits — the number representative of each Fighting Irish player ever to be drafted.
On Tuesday, Dalton Schultz, the #1 tight end prospect in the country according to ESPN, was lucky enough to receive one of Kelly’s “Pots Of Gold.” It’s easy to see why the Irish are so interested in the kid, a Utah native, who possesses a build like Rob Gronkowski at 6’6”/235 lbs, and apparently a set of NFL caliber hands.
Going by @BinghamBaller9 on Twitter, Schultz maintains a YouTube channel called “The College Athlete,” where he posted a look at the outlandish amount of mail that was dropped on his doorstep.
Another prized recruit, Nyles Morgan, the #4 overall linebacker nationally, also took to Twitter on Tuesday to share his #PotOfGold letter.

Overwhelming for sure, but I guess this approach certainly sends to message that Rudy never received: “We really want you to play football for the Irish.”

Cool, so where are this weeks rush boobs?
12 years ago at 11:40 amThat’s one less than the number of fan letters Dorn has sent Sandusky.
12 years ago at 11:41 amThey should send their recruits 25 pieces of mail since it’s been a quarter-century since they’ve won a national championship.
12 years ago at 11:50 amSo it wasn’t a real pot of gold? Not even a pot or fake gold. Is Manti Teo working for the recruiting department?
12 years ago at 12:55 pmNo he and his girlfriend are polishing their National Championship trophy they won last year.
12 years ago at 1:42 pmPretty funny that their school mascot is based on a mythical creature that hides an unattainable prize at the end of an optical illusion.

12 years ago at 3:49 amIronically, 477 is the apporximate amount of points that ND lost by in last year’s National Championship.

12 years ago at 9:27 amHuge ND fan and very happy for this kid. Yeah, they aren’t the best team but at least they’re putting in the effort to make this kids day. Well done ND.
12 years ago at 1:47 pmHe chuckled after saying “I don’t want to pull it out.” +1 for you Dalton.
