Driving 80 and still tying the double windsor exactly at the top of the belt buckle. TFM.

The knot is actually called a “Windsor,” and it’s incredibly outdated and pedestrian. If you’re wearing a Windsor knot, chances are you aren’t very stylish.

Egotisticalvag, there is such thing as a Double Windsor (also known as a Full) and it is very professional looking. Not something you need to tie everyday but for business / work purposes it looks very nice. Stop trying to one up everyone you are just making yourself look like a moron.

I’m guessing you like to wear your hipster skinny tie in a four-in-hand knot, huh egotesticleless?

Actually, WASP is right. Windsors are for douchebags who don’t know anything about looking good.

Double windsors are for idiots that think they know something about style because they know the name of a tie knot. It’s an embarrassment to dress like Shannon sharpe on NFL countdown and walk around like you think you’re “styling.” the same guys that wear double windsors are the douches that wear a baggy Brooks brothers shirt and pillowy polo shorts and think they look “frat.” Get a clue. If you think a classic four-in-hand is for “hipsters” then you obviously have no respect for iconic men such as frank Sinatra, dean Martin, steve McQueen ect. And you absolutely have no style. So go ahead and wear your baggy suit and “double Windsor” but be sure and stand next to me in my razor sharp suit tailored to perfection and my “slim” tie. I’ll just look that much better.

    That is all.

Or you could just wear a bowtie like a real fratstar. No necktie knot is frattier than a perfectly tied bowtie.

The only time I’m wearing a bow tie is with my custom made, perfectly tailored tuxedo at a Black tie event. The bow ties most kids wear and think makes them look “frat” actually makes them look like a little boys who got into his grandfathers closet.

You wear a windsor versus a four-in-hand based on the tie length, tie material, and collar length. There is no right knot to tie, only a proper tie-and-collar combination for different knots.

    I thought everybody knew this…

You’re supposed to tie it to the bottom of the belt you stupid fuck. You probably wear a short sleeved shirt with it too.
