Ole Miss Sigma Pi Out Of Intensive Care After Being Gored By Bull At Spanish Festival

There are some things in life that I don’t want to do. Running with fully enraged bulls with a bunch of other people ranks pretty high on that list. I’m not about to get a bull horn to the leg. I’m a firm believer that if you mess with the bull, you’ll get the horns. I’m just looking out for numero uno.

Benjamin Miller, a 20-year-old Sigma Pi at Ole Miss, has a bit of a wild side. A wild side that led him to Ciudad Rodrigo to participate in Carnaval del Toro. Unfortunately, his wild side took a nasty turn on Saturday when a bull caught up to him. Benjamin got gored, and he got gored hard. The bull tossed him around like a rag doll before the fiasco ended.

That looks nasty. Miller suffered multiple wounds, including a 16-inch goring to his thigh. He was placed in intensive care after suffering one of the worst goring injuries doctors said they’ve seen.

One of the experienced surgeons who operated on Miller for three hours said it was the worst goring injury he had ever seen.

“I don’t rule out another operation to control the hemorrhage,” he said. “We expected it, but maybe the bleeding is bigger than I had imagined,” Dr. Enrique Crespo said.

Miller was injured in his legs, back, and back side.

Thankfully, doctors have said that Miller is out of intensive care, is improving, and is out of danger. Young Benjamin does not need to undergo any more operations.
