One-Armed Basketball Player Commits To Florida

As if my hangover drive back down to Texas didn’t make me feel like enough of a worthless alcoholic already, here comes a kid, Zach Hodskins, who could literally beat me at basketball with an arm tied behind his back. Well, if he had that extra arm to tie up, that is. The point is, a one-armed kid just committed to the University of Florida, and the 6-foot-4, 200-pound senior from Georgia can play. His highlights should make you ashamed of bragging about your wildly mediocre high school athletic accomplishments. No one cares that you sacked a current Mountain West starting quarterback in garbage time as your team suffered an embarrassing blowout, okay? Deal with it.

According to Deadspin, Hodskins is a preferred walk-on, which means he is not on scholarship. However, Florida coach Billy Donovan has assured Hodskins that he will see playing time. To what extent is anyone’s guess, but Billy Donovan is one of the best recruiters in the country, so clearly he likes something more than this kid’s moxie. Would definitely bid.

Tebow’s a Florida legend and he doesn’t have a left arm either. There’s hope for this kid.

This is cool I guess but I know this kid will get destroyed when he tries to defend college level players. He seems like a solid guy to knock down some open jumpers, but I don’t see him doing too much at the college level.
