Due to rains in Cuba in the past several years, Cuba has had to import most of their tobacco from the DR and therefore Cuban cigars now are basically Dominicans. Furthermore, Cuba is no longer the only place that can produce wrapper, binder and filler tobacco on the same farm. Plus, IF, and this is a big if, Cuban tobacco is permitted to be imported to the US, the major US cigar brands will have winning lawsuits that will allow the importation of tobacco with the intent to blend Cuban tobacco to their own product.
