Owners Of Rivals’ Texas And Texas A&M Sites Get Into Twitter Fight, Gloves Come Off And Both Look Foolish
Watching two grown men argue with each other in real life is uncomfortable. Watching two grown men argue with each other on the internet is hilarious and sad, because a social media platform makes it a public spectacle. Yesterday, Geoff Ketchum, publisher of OrangeBloods.com, and Billy Liucci, co-owner of TexAgs.com, got into a Twitter spat after Ketchum invited Liucci onto his radio show to ask anything he’d like. The origin of the fight stemmed from a disagreement about where the two think five-star quarterback prospect Kyler Murray will sign next Wednesday.
It went down like this:
Just invited @billyliucci on the show tomorrow @YSportsRadio He can ask me anything he wants, but I get to do the same.
— Geoff Ketchum (@gkketch) January 26, 2015
@gkketch @YSportsRadio Have zero desire to go on your show. I've done it for years while you were on in Austin only to act like an ass…
— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) January 26, 2015
@gkketch @YSportsRadio with your Longhorn listeners after what I felt were civil, honest calls. I'm writing literally everything I know on
— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) January 26, 2015
@gkketch @YSportsRadio the Murray recruitment so if u want my honest take, it's all right there, cut-and-pasted on your board for all to see
— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) January 26, 2015
@gkketch @YSportsRadio There's really nothing at all to hide: You think Kyler is a lock to go to Texas. I don't. If I'm calling it today…
— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) January 26, 2015
@gkketch @YSportsRadio I say 60/40 in favor of the Aggies but it's obviously going to be a dogfight between now and NSD. My take.
— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) January 26, 2015
This should have been the end of the conversation, period. Liucci says no, gives a quick take on what he thinks about Murray’s recruitment, and is ready to move on with the rest of his day, but Ketchum couldn’t stop himself. He just had to turn a “who said what” argument into a chance to ask about Liucci’s personal life of partying with A&M players.
@billyliucci Do you drink alcohol with current players? Do you drink with under age players?
— Geoff Ketchum (@gkketch) January 26, 2015
@gkketch No to your first three questions.
— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) January 26, 2015
@billyliucci So, you just started partying with Manziel AFTER he left A&M… gotcha. Sounds totally legit.
— Geoff Ketchum (@gkketch) January 26, 2015
@billyliucci When did you first drink with Johnny Manziel? When did you first become the Wooderson of A&M athletics?
— Geoff Ketchum (@gkketch) January 26, 2015
@gkketch You are officially the biggest bitch I've come across. If you have an issue, you can always call me.
— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) January 26, 2015
@gkketch the very definition of a coward. If this is what's been bothering you? You're questioning my social life on twitter?
— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) January 26, 2015
@gkketch If I see you again, we'll have a real problem. Difference between us is that I don't need a twitter audience.
— Billy Liucci (@billyliucci) January 26, 2015
Actually, Billy, both of you look like total bitches right now–you even more so due to that douchey patch of fur on your chin. The world deserves a fight to the death, cage-style match between these two. The team associated with the winner gets a signed LOI by Kyler Murray.
.
This is pretty damn childish. I read the entire exchange on Twitter and Lucci stepped over a line. He brought up Geoff’s children and insulted them. I’m sorry, but that’s a line you do not cross. Dude should have his ass kicked for that.
11 years ago at 9:52 am[…] The Boulevard wrote an article a few weeks ago covering the owners of Rivals’ Texas and Texas A&M sites getting into an embarrassing Twitter fight, in which they argued where five-star quarterback prospect Kyle Murray would land (he ended up with the Aggies). This is just one of many examples where grown men completely lose their shit over a teenager’s college decision. And that’s coming from me, a die-hard college football fan who’s willing to put his life savings on the line on a seasonal basis. Shit’s gotta stop. […]
