Pace University Senior Captain Of Alleged Football Team Gives Nazi Salute In Confederate Flag Outfit

The Pace Chronicle received the below Snapchat photo from an anonymous source Sunday with a note attached identifying the individual in the snap as football captain Tyler Owens.

Owens has since been suspended while the university investigates the leaked pic. Former teammate and friend Addison Casey quickly came to his defense.

From the Pace Chronicle:

“[Owens has] done so much for me,” said Casey, who played on the defensive line with Owens from 2012 to 2014. “People are taking a joke out of context, it was just a couple of guys messing around, they saw the [clothing], and jokingly put it on.”

It is rumored that it is an ex-girlfriend who leaked the photo first, according to Casey.

Current teammates have yet to comment.

You kind of have to respect his move to double down on the racism, too. The Grand Wizard KKK joke as he’s fully draped head to toe in a confederate flag just wasn’t offensive enough. He had to throw in the Nazi salute for good measure. Suck it, PC police!

Obviously, context is everything here. Kid could very well just be mocking backwoods skinheads for all we know. Unfortunately, this is the internet, and very rarely are we afforded the luxury of context with photos like this.

Joke or not, you just have to be smarter, Tyler. You’re a big swinging dick on the campus of a school I imagine has maybe eighty people, tops. Of course this was going to make the rounds around the university and get out to the general public. Just not a good look, man.

Also, if you haven’t removed your ex from Snapchat, you’re certifiably insane. She’s just sitting there, looking at her stories, waiting for you to slip up and put on a super racist costume and throw up the most offensive hand gesture in history. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

    Hold the fucking phone, I get that the dude is a racist dick, but am I the only one who thinks that kicking a kid out of school for a picture from Snapchat is a little fucked? I mean is there any evidence he did anything wrong, or did he just put on some colorful clothes and raise his right arm 45 degrees? (In what appears to be the privacy of his own home)

    Stuff like this can always be solved by just not photographing/recording it in the first. I’m sure this guy isn’t racist, and I’m sure he isn’t anti-semetic, but once this becomes something that outside parties can freely look at, it’s only a matter of time before things blow up.
