Penn State Sigma Tau Gamma Member Receives Significant Head Trauma After Attack At Fraternity House

It has been an unusually rough week for fraternities, definitely much more so than is normal for the middle of summer. Earlier this week, we reported on a man who was stabbed at a San Diego State fraternity party. Unfortunately, today brings more bad news, too.

A 19-year-old member of Sigma Tau Gamma at Penn State reportedly received “significant head trauma” after being punched in the face by an unknown assailant on July 18. The victim is a resident of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity house and was allegedly asking a group of people to leave the property when the attack occurred.

The incident happened between midnight and 2 a.m. July 18 in the 500 block of South Allen Street at the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity house.

Authorities say the 19-year-old victim, who resides in the house, asked a group of people to leave the property. Afterward, police say an unknown male in the group punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground.

The victim was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center and then transferred to Penn State Hershey Medical Center to be treated for significant head trauma, police say.

While no updates on the victim’s condition are available, we hope for his speedy recovery.
