Philadelphia Flyers Replace Ice Girls With Ice Boys, Fans Rip Them Apart

Philadelphia gets a bad rap for having brutal fans. The laziest argument happens when some asshole brings up Philly fans throwing snowballs at Santa back in ’68, like it’s relevant now. Yes, we booed some undersized, lousy Santa, and it was warranted. Just like it was warranted last night at a Flyers preseason game.

The boo-birds came showering down when a group of jabronis took to the rink as the new ice crew. Philadelphia fans were rightfully upset, because these “Ice Boys” have replaced the scantily-clothed Flyers’ “Ice Girls,” who had become a popular attraction at the Wells Fargo Center the last few seasons.

The fans were in midseason booing form.

From Deadspin:

The Flyers eliminated the ice girls within months of a Mother Jones story in which members of the crew complained about shitty work conditions, draconian rules, and meager pay—not too dissimilar from what NFL cheerleaders have been alleging in various lawsuits against their teams. Consider this the Flyers being proactive: the Rangers scrapped their all-female ice team in 2007, but only after settling a lawsuit that included claims of sexual harassment.

You just don’t know what you have until it’s gone, and now the Flyers are stuck with more jerkoffs in bright orange sweaters. We have enough of those on the roster. Pay the damn girls already.

Serves the Flyers right for giving in to “pressure” from a left-of-Lenin propaganda magazine (that once employed, and then fired, Michael Moore).

Typical Left wing liberal logic. Mother Jones thinks “Hey! Here’s an injustice to women, we need to help fix this and save them from all the sexists!!” In turn, the proceed to get all the girls canned. These girls signed up knowing the pay/working conditions! God you have to be a fucking idiot to be a liberal.

Dorn was immediately disappointed when he found out the headline wasn’t innuendo.
