(Photo) Michigan Fan Takes Point Blank Macing To The Face

Things got crazy in the stands of the Michigan-Penn State game on Saturday. It’s not clear in the photo, but this Michigan fan was already in handcuffs at the moment this photo was taken, according to reports. Was this an unnecessary and dangerous measure taken by stadium security, or did this guy get what was justifiably coming to him?

A Deadspin reader, who was on-hand during the altercation, emailed the site to explain what led to the point blank macing.

As he explains, the Michigan fan “was standing for every play with his buddy and became confrontational with those around him.” Fans grew tired of his behavior, an older woman allegedly even took a swing at him, and after a soon-to-be fight was brewing in the stands, stadium security stepped in and escorted him down from his seats. He then “grabbed the railing and refused to leave” and “ended up taking some swings at the state police,” according to the emailer.

Pepper spray directly to the cornea from two inches away is one way to bring an unruly fan to his senses, but the possibility of permanently blinding the poor asshole may be a good reason to keep that spray holstered, at least from that close.
