Pi Kappa Phi At NCSU Suspended After Pledge Book Full Of Offensive Comments Discovered

The Pi Kappa Phi chapter at North Carolina State University has been placed on interim suspension pending an investigation into the contents of one of their pledge books, which was found at a restaurant near campus. The book was chock-full of handwritten derogatory notes towards women, as well as some racially charged comments.

Here are some excerpts from the book:

“Be kind to the whales because they’ll lead you to the dolphins.”

“The only reason I don’t hook up with fat chicks is I’m afraid I’ll love it.”

I think every guy here can relate to that last sentiment, and the dolphin line is legitimately funny. Not seeing much of an issue here.

“That tree is so perfect for lynching.”

You had to go there, huh? It was so promising, and then you threw us all a racially charged curveball.

“It will be short and painful, just like when I rape you.”

“If she’s hot enough, she doesn’t need a pulse.”

Fuck. What happened to all those good, cheeky fat girl jokes? That’s your wheelhouse, kid.

From WRAL:

“The written comments and quotes reported earlier this evening are offensive and unacceptable,” Pi Kappa Phi Chief Executive Officer Mark E. Timmes said in a statement. “These statements are inconsistent with the values of Pi Kappa Phi and will not be tolerated. We have instructed our students to cooperate fully with all investigation efforts.”

Guarantee this pledge is long gone, and for what exactly? Writing a bunch of faux pas statements he doesn’t believe in for the sake of being what he thinks is funny.

Word of advice to you kids out there: Have the impression that everything you say aloud will be recorded and everything you write down will be read by the masses. The greek community would have far less problems if we all had this train of thought. Also, stop being generally shitty.

I’m not the boss of any of you, but all of you may possibly want to keep a low profile for awhile. Especially with the rape and racism rhetoric.

The guy is an idiot, but suspension is pretty harsh for just being a dumb kid writing shit.

Everyone needs to stop being so fucking sensitive Jesus christ. Just because funny shit towards girls were written down makes it a problem, rather than what is said 24/7. Everyone needs to get a life and worry about themselves

Cops were patrolling Greek Court on foot last night…one of my underage brothers got a citation for standing on the back deck last night smoking a cig and minding his own fucking business

Reading the comments on this post disgusts me. I read TFM mostly for the entertaining comments. I usually see #merica references and conservative references with a few pervs sprinkled around here and there. But the fact that the real issue in this situation isn’t being addressed is really fucked up. It’s not about losing the pledge book, and it’s not about not writing down what you say. I would lose my god damned mind if a friend of mine talked about lynching someone. If you’re not all for equal opportunity stop being a terrorist and get the hell out of my country.
