Pike At Southern Miss Suspended After The Death Of Two Flamingos And A Pledge Rap Video
The Pi Kappa Alpha chapter at the University of Southern Mississippi has been suspended and a pledge has been arrested after stealing two flamingos from the Hattiesburg Zoo, which ultimately led to the birds’ deaths. A crucial lead for police came when Devin Nottis, a 19-year-old pledge, posted the following video to his Snapchat stories of him dropping some eloquent rhymes about the bird heist.
I mean, with mad skills on the mic like Devin, who wouldn’t share it for all to see? Unfortunately for Mr. Nottis, when you’re recorded saying the words, “I went to the zoo, took the flamingo, and took it back to the house,” that’s all police really need to take your tatted up jabroni ass to jail. Nottis was charged with grand larceny, trespassing, two counts of animal cruelty, and was held on a $17,300 bond. The university suspended Devin, too.
From NY Daily News:
Nottis is not allowed on campus except for university judicial proceedings and would face arrest if he is at the school for any other reason.
The fraternity must suspend all operations and the national chapter has suspended it for 30 days until the national office determine its future, the school stated.
Look, I get this was meant as a harmless prank, but when cute animals like GiGi and Reese (the flamingos) become victims, heads generally roll. Gloating about it with a shit freestyle doesn’t help matters, either.
It’s really quite simple: stop fucking with animals and stop incriminating yourself with social media.
R.I.P. GiGi and Reese. .
