Pittsburgh High School Stabbing Victim Takes Awesome Selfie From Hospital, Touted As A Life-Saver
If you’ve seen even a minute of national news today, you know that what was supposed to be a routine day of classes turned tragic for the 1,200 or so students at Franklin Regional High School when a 16-year-old unidentified sophomore attacked fellow classmates with kitchen knives early this morning.
The utterly dastardly and seemingly psychosis-fueled attack has left the town of Murrysville, Pa., in compete shock and disbelief. Twenty people were admitted to several local Pittsburgh hospitals this morning. Thankfully, no one has died, but physicians have performed surgery on several life-threatening cases, and many believe the teamwork in the halls of Franklin Regional this morning was likely lifesaving for some of the victims at hand.
One victim, Nate Scimio, was in refreshingly good spirits at the hospital after the incident and took to Instagram to let everyone know he was okay in midst of the chaos. If there’s one time I’ll ever cede to a man taking a selfie, well, this is it.
Scimio captioned the picture “Chillin At Children’s,” as he shows off a bandage on his right forearm, along with the perfectly executed “half duck face.”
It’s awesomely sobering to see a guy like Nate doing his best to get through the kind of inexplicable tragedy that befell him and his fellow classmates today, and it’s a sure thing that they’ll all be in my thoughts in days to come on the road to recovery.
It’s hard to understand and grasp sometimes, but when life throws you curveballs, you have to really try to make the best of what’s around. That kind of mentality is what builds a man’s character, and from reports, it seems like Scimio is already well on his way to being a real character guy.
Without Nate me and Lindsay would’ve been injured and there’s not enough words to describe how much of a hero he is

Can't thank Nate enough for stepping in front of me and Trinity today. He is a hero, and I am so thankful. Praying for everyone today.

It’s my guess that Nate’s quick thinking to pull a fire alarm and evacuate his fellow classmates as chaos and panic unfolded around them is the reason that no parents are faced with planning funerals tonight. Reports of the horrendous incident are still developing, but it seems we can confirm this evening that Nate Scimio was surely a hero today.

He’s dating a good friend of mine’s younger sister. Truly a champ
11 years ago at 10:26 pmWith the amount of snatch that this kid is going to be able to get, I think it’s safe to say that they will not be dating for very long.
