Pizza Delivery Guy Gets Stabbed And Carjacked, Still Makes The Delivery

No one is more dedicated to his craft than this pizza delivery guy in Louisville, Kentucky. Josh Lewis, a 25-year-old student, was making a routine delivery from Spinelli’s Pizzeria to Norton Hospital. When he arrived yesterday at around 2:45 p.m., Lewis started taking the order out of his Jeep Cherokee, most likely thinking about anything other than getting a knife in his back. Well, some pleasant individual had other ideas, shanked the poor kid, and took off in his Jeep.

Like the true professional he is, Lewis crawled his way on the asphalt to grab the pies and actually made his delivery before crumpling altogether in the E.R. He was rushed to nearby University Hospital into surgery for a collapsed lung. Our boy is said to be coherent but isn’t in completely stable condition just yet.

When you’re slinging pizzas, you have to expect any and everything. Leave your guard down for a split second, and BOOM, you’re bleeding out next to some sausage and pepp. You’ve got to keep the head on a swivel and take a page out of Mayweather’s book: protecting yourself at all times.

How about the recovery, though? Grabbing the order and willing himself to the customer before seeking medical attention is downright lunacy. Really going above and beyond the call to duty. Hopefully he was properly compensated for doing so.

But honestly, there’s not a single job in this world that I’d put over my well-being, let alone a delivery gig. You can keep the tip. I’d rather live than make sure not to soil the restaurant’s impeccable delivery reputation. No way am I dying in vain for that cause. You have to really buy into the whole “team concept” to put the literal dough before yourself. There’s just no way..
