In the August edition of Golf Digest they interviewed some of the players from the 1991 Ryder Cup. Corey Pavin, teammate of Payne Stewart, recalled this, “On Monday of Ryder Cup week, Payne opened the windows and put on Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ He had the volume turned all the way up, so the music poured down on the Europeans. I wouldn’t doubt that the whole island heard it.”
