Purdue Greeks Just Raised An Outrageous Sum For Breast Cancer Research
We need something to celebrate. The constant condemnation is becoming tiring, repetitive, and quite agitating. The past 48 hours have been nothing but a constant barrage of idiots doing idiotic things. Thankfully, we can all give Purdue a big pat on the back this morning. The school’s Greeks look to be the group that is going to bring us out of this endless avalanche of stupidity.
Purdue’s Zeta Tau Alpha held its annual Big Man on Campus event last Friday, and it appears to have been a monumental success. The annual event features an assortment of fraternities putting on performances for the chance to win the title of Big Man on Campus. Alex Isgrigg of Delta Tau Delta won this year’s Big Man on Campus title, but from the looks of this video, there was no shortage of incredible entertainment at the event.
At the end of the night, the grand total of all fundraising was announced. Thanks to the incredible Greek community and its sponsors, the men and women of Purdue were able to raise over $2,500 more than last year’s total.
From The Exponent:
The awaited moment of the night came when the grand total of all fundraising was announced. The total came to $124,568.60, which surpassed the 2014 total by over $2,500. Different chapters participated in fundraising events such as Skip-a-Meals and penny wars.
Six figures straight to breast cancer research. That’s a helluva job, guys. It feels good to finally have the opportunity to write an article that isn’t detrimental to Greek life. Keep it up..

11 years ago at 9:06 pmFor what it’s worth, BMOC is used to raise money for breast cancer education and awareness to support ZTA’s national philanthropy. That being said, I am glad that the Purdue chapter decided to partner with a Cancer Research Center this year to also donate to prevention, detection, and treatment. Not trying to take anything away from this event (I go to Purdue, and this is one of the highlight Greek events of the year), but it would be nice to see ZTA’s national philanthropy shift towards donating to breast cancer research to try and eliminate it instead of the awareness side with fancy pink ribbons and shirts that tell us cancer still exists.
