This has been one hell of a year for strange campus criminals. Between the serial urinator at the University of Florida and the creepy groper at BYU, campus police have been busy searching for perverted fugitives. Thankfully for the lovely women of Brigham Young University, the university’s police department believes they have finally arrested the handsy perp.

Last Thursday, BYU police charged Nathan Eric Fletcher, a student at the university, with two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery. Though he does not have a criminal record, he faces at least 16 charges stemming from his rampant groping spree, which began in January. After several months with no leads, university police came across security camera footage of one of the attacks. After asking victims to identify the disgusting deviant in the videos, officers knew they had their suspect.

Over the course of several months, Fletcher groped at least 16 women. He usually attacked women while they were jogging. He would run towards the women and grab their breasts and/or butt as he ran past them. Police also believe Fletcher is connected to several reported gropings near some off-campus student apartments.

While he has only been charged with two misdemeanors so far–each of which carries up to a year-long jail sentence–prosecutors say Fletcher is facing charges on all 16 cases. Fletcher was banned from campus, which went into effect on April 1. He is due in court on May 1.

I understand Fletcher’s appreciation of women, I really do. They are God’s greatest creation. However, he seems to have failed to grasp the aspect of consent that normal men understand. Thankfully, he is now locked up. Hopefully he will learn to keep his hands to himself, just as we all learned in Kindergarten.
