Rich Guy Buys A House Next To His Ex Wife Only To Erect A Giant Middle Finger Statue

So, this happened. A man in Michigan is being accused of purchasing the house next door to his ex-wife and essentially abandoning it, except for the giant middle finger statue that stands in the backyard. The house, which is located in the expensive neighborhood of Bloomfield Hills, sits on the shores of Lake Erie and is considered to be one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country. That alone makes this absurd story of trolling even more bizarre. A Detroit sportswriter identified the man as Alan Markovitz, a local legend who owns three different strip clubs in the city. Oh, now it’s making more sense.

Markovitz has a 17-year-old daughter from a previous relationship who lives with him. He was married for two years to a woman he met at a friend’s birthday party at an Auburn Hills restaurant. But they recently divorced. He said his wife, a native of Slovakia, was cheating on him with someone he knew. She moved in with the guy two days after moving out of the house.

“He broke the Man Code. He’s a total freakin’ asshole,” Markovitz says. “Real men don’t do that to another guy.”

Markovitz respectably placed the statue in the backyard, as not to cause a disruption in the neighborhood. But what good is the house at night? Don’t worry, there is a massive spotlight that illuminates the statue when it gets dark.

Kudos to Markovitz. The man definitely spends his fortune the right way.

Any chance they sell these statues in other finger positions? I think a shocker one on the front lawn would look nice during welcome week.

This is a smart move all around. The property is an investment that should conceivably only continue to gain value over the next several years. I like this guy’s style.

Ahh, my hometown: The land of wealthy car people.

… which is definitely not on Lake Eerie. Get a goddamn map.
