Rich Norwegian “Forgot” He Left A $108,000 Boat Docked In A Swedish Harbor

A man in Norway must have a tad bit of green–or whatever color Norway’s currency is–to his name. According to Swedish authorities, the man had planned to sell his boat, which is worth around $108,000. He had docked it in a Swedish harbor, and for whatever reason, he simply assumed he had sold it and forgot about his boat. Two years flew by, and sure enough, that damn boat was still floating in his slip.

In an interesting twist, the boat’s keys had been tied to the railing the entire time, leading me to one question: who is more incompetent, the Malaysian government or Swedish thieves? How a boat can sit in the same place for two years with the keys in plain sight and go untouched by every criminal is beyond me, but I digress.

Annoyed with their inability to find the owner of the vessel, Swedish police took to Facebook, because Facebook can solve anything. Sure enough, they found the owner, who claimed he had simply “forgotten” about the boat. While the poor may not understand how easy this mistake was to make, when money is flowing out of your ass quicker than post-Taco Bell diarrhea, it’s easy to lose $108K and never have a clue. Happens to me all the time.

The boat’s owner has to pay harbor dues for the past two years and collect his boat from the Swedish port. Nothing but pocket change for this guy, though.
