Richard Sherman And A Cutout Of Doug Baldwin Destroyed NFL’s Media Policies In Press Conference
The Seahawks as a whole have been the target of NFL rule changes and strict enforcement since their Super Bowl victory last year. From changing the defensive interference rules to crack down on the kind of physical secondary play that propelled Seattle’s defense to be among the best in the league last season and issuing fines to players–namely Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman–for “violations” of the league’s media and sponsorship aims, Roger Goodell’s office has not made it easy on the defending champs this year.
Well, today, Richard Sherman and Doug Baldwin were fed up with it and they let the media know exactly how they felt about their repeated problems with the league during a post-practice press conference. Featuring talk of products clearly in competition with NFL sponsorship deals, and Doug Baldwin hiding behind a cardboard cutout of himself for the entire two and a half minutes, the wrangle on stand-up comedy that the two showcased is hilariously impeccable.
There’s no doubt both of them will receive a call from the NFL commissioner’s office if they haven’t already, and fines are definitely likely. Who cares, though, because today these two proved that they definitely have an entertaining future in broadcast upon retirement (if not blockbuster comedic roles) while simultaneously ripping the shit out of Roger Goodell. That is always a beautiful thing. .

11 years ago at 7:45 pmRichard Sherman is frat. Stanford Educated, successful at everything he does with a publicly nonchalant attitude, next level shit talker, shameless self-promoter. 10/10 first pick in the intramural league

11 years ago at 3:37 pmThis interview encompasses the overall pussification of the NFL. Sure, it’s all a huge business, but that doesn’t mean it should become so focused on revenue that it loses its original purpose: to watch the best athletes in the world knock the shit out of each other
11 years ago at 7:45 pmI’m surprised they could walk off the stage that fast with balls that big.
11 years ago at 7:48 pmIt’s sad because he’s gonna get fined for speaking the absolute truth.
11 years ago at 8:10 pmHe clearly did not give a fuck.
11 years ago at 7:41 pmThe NFL is about to be like Oprah handing out fines. “YOU GET A FINE! YOU GET A FINE! YOU ALL GET FINES!!”

11 years ago at 8:56 pmFuck Roger Goodell
11 years ago at 10:43 pmIts like the players are angry and upset that the entity that is completely dependent upon them to make money is now restricting how and in what FORUM they can express their opinions because big name sponsors want it that way. DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR YOU CUM GUZZLING COMMIES?
11 years ago at 10:49 pmWell communism is actually a purely economic system and has very little to do with partisan values outside of finance, so allow us to guzzle in peace if you will
