Richmond Kappa Alpha Order Suspended For Perpetuating Rape Culture With Lame Email
Kappa Alpha Order at the University of Richmond has been suspended by the university and its nationals after a member sent a “controversial” email to the rest of his chapter. Let’s take a look at this vile, nasty, piece of trash that filled KA brothers’ inboxes.
Man, that’s the most offensive thing I’ve ever laid my eyes on. AmeriKA? That pun makes me want to punt a litter of newborn wombats into an active volcano. Truly terrible. And showing up naked to a U.S.A. party is a bigger spit in the face to the Founding Fathers than taking a knee during the national anthem — especially if you’re uncircumcised.
What’s that? It has nothing to do with the patriotic quip? It got them suspended because it’s repulsive, misogynistic, and perpetuates rape culture? Those last two sentences? Seems like some lame line you’d see on a humorless network television sitcom written by a group of out-of-touch writers who fundamentally don’t understand how real guys talk.
We’re much, much filthier. If they ever released the text messages from any random group of normal dudes between 16 and 55 in this country, the internet would implode from the amount of outrage it would generate. Even texts between a group of regular women are chock full of sexually charged, lewd conversations. I see you ladies. Let that freak flag fly.
But this email? This is as tame as it gets.
Might be time for fraternities to adapt to the world’s sensitivity and start communicating solely through word of mouth. No paper trail, guys..

9 years ago at 8:30 pmThe issue is that the email came in the wake of a huge controversy on campus regarding the handling of a couple of actual rape cases by the University. Victims are coming out and telling their stories of how the university took the side of athletes over their victims. UR has been getting roasted on HuffPost and other national media outlets and the very day of the email was a big event called “It Ends Now” addressing sexual violence. The email itself is pretty tame compared to others there have been, but in the context of how enraged our campus has been this past week, it blew the fuck up. A lot of people are actually more pissed that the UR leadership is using KA as a scapegoat to try to say “hey we’re addressing the problem” while letting real rapists off. Not the worst email I’ve ever seen but things are pretty tense around here right now.

9 years ago at 11:49 pmNot far off. The cases that are being written about occurred a couple years ago but one of the victims wrote a HuffPost article in light of all the Brock Turner shit. Not sure if the offenders have graduated by now or not but they were basically let off with slaps on the wrist. Instead the school has been setting up “open forums” with the Deans and stuff like that, but when the KA rush chairs decided to be dumbasses the school pretty much had to play hardball. If nothing else it was just the stupidest move I’ve ever seen.

You’ve got to recognize just in general what a stupid idea it was to send an email saying to “make fathers afraid to send their daughters to college” to 95 people that are not your brothers. If you’d been on this campus the last week you’d recognize that it’s far stupider with everything going on here.
