Rory McIlroy Wants To Limit Booze At PGA Events

Live golf tournaments are among my favorite sporting events to attend because they’re so much fun to drink at. While it’s drinking that made the sport of golf great, not everyone’s a fan. The newest outspoken critic of country club inebriation? Rory McIlroy.

From Yahoo Sports:

The four-time major winner was apparently followed by a persistent fan Saturday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando who wouldn’t stop chiding him about his wife.

“There was one guy out there who kept yelling my wife’s name,” McIlroy, told ESPN. “I was going to go over and have a chat with him. I don’t know, I think it’s gotten a little much, to be honest. I think that they need to limit alcohol sales on the course, or they need to do something

Leave it to someone named Rory to act like a stick in the mud. But there’s more to the story, and McIlroy ain’t the only one.

McIlroy isn’t the only one complaining about the customers. But he hasn’t gone as far as Justin Thomas. The Honda Classic winner and 2017 PGA Player of the Year actually had a fan removed from the course in February for having the nerve to cheer for his balls to go into the water and bunkers.

Justin Thomas, that’s some pussy shit. My friends cheer for me to lose every time we play; it’s called being competitive. If you can’t handle people cheering against you, maybe you shouldn’t be a professional athlete.

For the FIRST unit:

It’s not the first time McIlroy has been irked with fans. In February, he was frustrated with the crowds that have showed up to watch the reemergence of Tiger Woods as a competitive golfer.

Oh, now he has an inferiority complex to Tiger Woods? Look, I’m not mad because he has an inferiority complex to Tiger Woods. I’m mad because he thinks he’s special for it. Newsflash, Rory, everyone has an inferiority complex to Tiger Woods.

Banning alcohol and golf is just un-American. Like intentional walk signals and putting runners on second to start off in extra innings is ruining baseball, sobriety is ruining golf.

Come on, Rory, you’re better than this. Don’t take away what we love so much.

Rory is still sore at me for taking a dump on the green while he was trying to putt in the final round of the 2011 Masters. Hey, I was 14, a young and undisciplined little scamp! Plus I fucked his wife, so…

If by “box” you mean my $3,000,000 lake house in Loudon, and by “foreclose” you mean the Bank Of Fayette County asked me to loan them the funds to purchase the assests of a bank in West Tennessee then, yeah, a bank foreclosed on my box.
