Rory McIlroy has had no regard for human life since breaking things off with his former fiancée, Caroline Wozniacki. Not only has he been shacking it up with five-star talent like Nadia Forde, but he has found his game that made him the world number one back in 2012. With his win this weekend at Royal Liverpool, McIlroy has completed the third of four stages for the career grand slam. In addition to taking home the Claret Jug and the $1.66 million that comes with it, Rory’s old man gets to cash in on the win, too.

Rory’s pop, Gerry McIlroy, has had faith in his son’s ability since he was a teenager. He was a bartender at Hollywood Golf Club and worked more than 100 hours a week to fund Rory’s golf expenses. Apparently Gerry and his friends also enjoyed a good wager from time to time.

In dollars, this comes out to $683. At 500 to 1, Gerry and his buddies brought in a combined $342,000.

Gerry, you degenerate, gambling son of a gun. I’m positive you were doing just fine before this weekend, but I’m sure your friends are at the local pub celebrating, sparing no expense.

Single Rory is the gift that keeps on giving. Well, unless you’re Caroline Wozniacki, who won a tennis tournament for the first time in nine months yesterday, only to be out-shined by McIlroy’s major victory. His swagger’s back and he looks poised to go on an absolute tear, on and off the golf course.

To be fair, nobody in Australia gives a fuck about anything. They live in Australia after all.
