Royals Star Eric Hosmer Hits The Bars With Fans After ALDS Win, Pays For The Whole Bar’s Tab
Tuesday night I sat next to Geoffrey, my buddy from Kansas City, and watched with him as the Royals fell behind the Oakland Athletics 7-3. The A’s postseason ace Jon Lester was dealing. Royals manager Ned Yost was Ned Yost-ing. Hard. A Royals offense that wasn’t really constructed to pull off the big comeback needed a huge one. All of this after the Royals number one starter, James Shields — the guy you want throwing in this game — couldn’t keep the A’s offense quiet. As an Atlanta Braves fan, I knew this feeling all too well, so I turned to Geoffrey and said, “If it’s any consolation, this is what the playoffs usually feel like.”
“No,” he replied, in a tone that was really saying, “Shut the fuck up, asshole.” Fair.
Fast forward to last night, wherein the Royals completed a dominant three game sweep of the best team in baseball, in front of a raucous home crowd trying to process what, at minimum in their eyes, was glorious and surreal, if not seemingly impossible to believe — and that’s just in reference to Billy Butler’s stolen base. The party in Kansas City was on, and damned if the Royals players weren’t going to join in with their fans. Royals star Eric Hosmer tweeted out the official post-game celebration spot, McFadden’s in Kansas City’s Power and Light District, and invited everyone in Kansas City to join in.
KC you guys showed us so much love all year were returning the favor for you guys tonight at @McFaddensKC #allonebigfamily see.u all there

And as further reward for their support, once Hosmer got to McFadden’s he threw down his credit card and paid for an open bar for an hour. McFadden’s, by the way, is humongous. An unofficial world record for “Amount of Boulevard Beer Chugged In One Hour” was almost certainly set last night.
The Royals are slated to start the American League Championship Series against the AL East champion Orioles this Friday in Baltimore. Here’s hoping Hosmer gets a chance to head back to P&L and blow more of his postseason bonus on the fans..
Not sure if this is true, but we have a number floating around on how much Hosmer dropped on his McFadden’s bar tab last night for Royals fans.
@totalfratmove @BaconTFM A friend of mine who bartends at McFaddens just told me Hosmer's 1 hour bar tab was $17.5K!!!

11 years ago at 1:24 pmI moved out to KC recently…the Royals fans here are absolutely rabid. Nice to see a team like this with such loyal fans finally have some success.
11 years ago at 1:37 pmAnyone else notice the fact that the Kauffman PA system blasted the “Angels in the Outfield,’ theme music every time the Royals hit a home run? Power move.
11 years ago at 2:51 pmAs a die-hard lifelong royals fan, I’m fucking stumped. I have no idea how to handle post season success. And Eric Hosmer is the man. #idhavehisbabies #nohomo
11 years ago at 7:30 pmThat’s fucking rowdy. Love to see a ball player repay his fans especially in the coolest way possible. Classy move Hosmer
