Russian Propaganda Depicts Porn Star Sasha Grey As Nurse Killed By Ukrainian Military

It’s not every day that you see a porn star and an international crisis mentioned in the same story, but today’s not every day. Porn star Sasha Grey, who some of you may be familiar with, has been taking to Twitter and setting the story straight about a picture of her used in Russian propaganda — which is something I never imagined I’d ever get to write.

A “story from the battlefield” featuring a picture of Grey went viral on Russian social media this past week. The story featured a Russian nursed named “Sasha Serova,” who had been captured by Ukrainians, raped, and then chopped up with an ax. The story, like many viral posts on social media, was complete bullshit.

It read like any story made to be shared. It was designed to appeal to the hearts of those reading it. It was emotional and raw.

“Nurse Sasha Serova has died. This seemingly fragile but strong girl carried away the injured from battlefield. People said she was able to bring even hopeless patients back on their feet. But she did not return from battlefield. She was taken captive by junta punitive expeditioners. At first they tormented her and filmed all their ‘pleasures’, then she was axed. RIP.”

I’m not really sure what the people who made up the story were thinking. I mean, how could they think that using a photo of a famous porn actress would go unnoticed? It’s not like her face isn’t all over the internet already, right?

Obviously, Grey found out about the story, and she made sure people knew that not only was it a crock of shit, but that she was strongly opposed to Russia’s recent aggression. Grey also pointed out that, after tweeting in support of the Ukrainians last year, she was called “anti-Russian.”

Now the same people who accused her of that are using a picture of her in anti-Ukrainian propaganda. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.

Personally, I think whomever made up the story was just lazy and did a quick search on the internet for a picture of an attractive woman. Either way, the fact of the matter is the story is complete bullshit and the person who came up with it used a picture of a porn star. What a dumbass..
