Secretary Of Defense Thanks Tim Howard For Defending America

After kicking all sorts of ass for America, some Wikipedia editor briefly listed world-class keeper Tim Howard as the USA’s secretary of defense. In response, actual Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel called up Tim Howard and thanked him for “defending the United States of America at the World Cup.” Then Hagel invited him and the rest of the team to the Pentagon. He even went as far as to say that with some training, Tim Howard could be the real secretary of defense some day.

Outside of the loss, life can’t be all that bad for Tim Howard right now. The long-time American keeper and pro soccer player rocketed to a new stratosphere of international acclaim after his record-setting performance in the USA extra time loss to Belgium in the World Cup. He also inspired the Internet to make memes that are actually amusing. Timmy’s always been the real deal, but you have to think some new endorsement deals are in store for this big guy with the beard after that performance.

I don’t know about you, but visiting the Pentagon sounds a lot cooler than visiting the White House, regardless of the current residents. Howard should chalk this up as a win.
