Senator Bob Menendez Likes His Prostitutes Really Young

Bob Menendez, a Democratic Senator from New Jersey, is not having a great week. This is largely due to the fact that information is coming to light that the Senator made a couple trips to the Dominican Republic with Dr. Salomon Melgen, a major Democratic donor, so the two could score prostitutes.

Honestly, that sounds kind of like a zany, political buddy comedy starring Will Ferrell as the uptight, pervy Senator and Vince Vaughn as his bad-influence political donor friend. If no one else has called it yet, I call dibs.

After the FBI raided Melgen’s office and came up with evidence to back this claim, Menendez responded on Wednesday with this statement:

“Any allegations of engaging with prostitutes are manufactured by a politically-motivated right-wing blog and are false.”

Really, Menendez? You’re playing that card? Why is it that every single time a Democratic politician gets busted for screwing around on the job, they blame it on a right wing conspiracy? Of course, this “right wing blog” is actually the Daily Caller, a D.C. based news website that is a member of the White House’s rotating press pool. So, you know, just a little bit more substantial than a “blog.”

Meanwhile, Melgen is in trouble with the IRS for owing them over $11 million. Of course, Menendez, being the good friend that he is, has taken steps to help Melgen out, namely by writing him a check for $58,500 to reimburse his buddy for the flights down to the Dominican Republic on Melgen’s private plane. My only hope is that in the memo line he wrote “Hookers” and maybe drew a little smiley face.

The major source of the Senator’s worries, an email sent by a young Dominican woman explaining Menendez’s preference for young girls:

“That senator also likes the youngest and newest girls,” the woman wrote on April 21, 2012, according to an English translation provided to The Daily Caller by a native Spanish speaker.

The girl who wrote the email specifically states that she spent her seventeenth birthday with the Senator, which sounds like one of the absolute worst ways to spend a birthday. Ever. Listen, Bob, I’m sure the Dominican Republic is a lot more relaxed about things like age of consent, or paying for sex with cash, but you had to have realized that this would not look good to your electorate if they found out, right? Oh well, that just means next election there will probably be a free Senate seat up for grabs to the next Republican who doesn’t actively seek to fuck minors.

The irony is that this happened in a week when Menendez should have been celebrating his ascent to chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and his key role in the immigration reform proposal that emerged from the Senate.

My guess is that his proposal included allowing Dominican prostitutes easier access to America. Without Melgen, Menendez is probably going to have to slum it with American prostitutes from now on if he wants a little on the side. Sorry Bob, sucks to suck.
