SMU’s Chi Omega Is Moving Into A New House And It’s Nicer Than Any House You’ll Ever Live In

One of the great perks about Greek life is that the houses we live in are nicer than the majority of the houses the rest of the American population lives in. We are constantly trying to one-up each other by having the biggest, best, most luxurious palace on campus. When it comes to the “poor college student” stereotype, Greeks aren’t lumped in, and it’s easy to see why.

Southern Methodist’s Chi Omega chapter, Iota Alpha, is no different to this trend. Until this year, SMU’s first sorority had been in the same house since 1951. Back in 2011, Chi O came up with a remodel of its old house, but the remodels never came to fruition due to safety hazards and fire codes. So, the sorority upped and moved into its new $6.5 million house after raising the money last June.

The new house is a three-story, 25,000 square foot spectacle to be seen. It will house around 40 members of the sorority and give them ample space to host events. The interior was designed by an alumna, Mersina Pappas Stubbs of Pappas Design, and it is incredible.

From Dallas Business Journal:

The interior of the Chi Omega house includes seating for 160 members, an art studio and in-suite study areas, as well as a safe room (a secured area in case it’s needed).

Photos of the amazing house can be seen HERE.

Jesus Christ Boulevard, I literally want to kill you. Would you mind doing a quick google search of “sorority houses at Bama” and then kindly jump in the bathtub with a toaster?

EVERY sorority at #SMU is getting a new house. It’s just that ΧΩ was the 1st completed. My mother and grandmother were ΧΩ’s at #SMU, as well as 2 aunts. My wife is a ΔΓ from #SMU. They just broke ground for their new multi-million dollar house on the Hilltop!

    What they said:
“The laundry room within the home will give Chi Omega sorority sisters the ability to do multiple loads of laundry at a time.”

    What I saw:
“The laundry room within the home will give Chi Omega sorority sisters the ability to take multiple loads at a time.”
