Spieth To Fly U.S. Open Trophy In To Whistling Straits To Rub In Phil Mickelson’s Stupid Face

I love this. I love this so damn much because it backs my theory that Fat Phil is that guy in your crew that somehow snuck his way in and no one realized how or when, but he’s just kinda always been there. You all begrudgingly accept him as one of the guys, even though none of you sincerely like him, and you all talk mess about him behind his back. Never to his face, either, because he’s just so nice. Annoyingly nice, actually. And when it comes down to it, no one really respects him.

That’s Phil, to me, in a nutshell.

Then we come to find out hotshot Jordan Spieth, a guy who barely has hair on his peaches, plans to rub his U.S. Open trophy in Phil’s fat fucking face during a PGA Championship practice round at Whistling Straits? This is too good. For those unaware, the U.S. Open is the one major Phil has failed to win.

In an effort to gain some kind of mental edge over Mickelson, who is notorious for trying to get in the heads of his pre-tournament opponents, Spieth is going to bring out the big guns.

“I’m going to try to get the U.S. Open trophy flown in so I can sit it on the front of each green for Phil so I’ll have something for him to — that’s just dishing it back,” Spieth said to laughter after a final-round 66 at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational left him tied for 10th place.

“We’ll see if we can get somebody to carry it around for the round. It’s the first time I have something on him.”

Phil is more than twice Spieth’s age, and he has five major wins to his illustrious career. Think about that shit. Can you imagine a first or second year player showing up Michael Jordan like this during the twilight of his career? That dude would end up wearing concrete boots and tossed into Lake Michigan..
