Steve Kerr Promised Steph Curry And Andre Iguodala A Round At Augusta National If They Won The NBA Finals
How about Steve Kerr winning an NBA championship his first year as a head coach in any level of basketball? That decision to go small ball and force Timofey Mozgov out of game 5 was huge and drastically changed the momentum of the series. Apparently, he’s not just an X’s and O’s guy, either. Dude can motivate with the best of them.
From Golf.com:
Win the NBA Finals and you’ll play Augusta National. That was a promise Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made to Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala. Well, the two players made good on their half of the deal. Now it’s up to Kerr to follow through.
J.A. Adande of ESPN reported the exchange in his post-game recap. “When we won, I’m yelling at Steph, ‘We’re going to Augusta!’” Iguodala, the NBA Finals MVP, said. “You know how everybody goes to Disneyland? We’re going to Augusta.”
According to the article, Kerr has an in at Augusta who he plans to use to get his victorious players a tee time. It’s no surprise they’re excited. Curry’s love for golf is no secret anymore. Now, neither is Iguodala’s.
As if winning the NBA Finals wasn’t enough of an incentive, Kerr went and dangled a tee time at the best golf course on planet Earth right in front of Steph and Andre’s faces. I would murder my best friend if it meant being able to play 18 at Augusta National. Is it really any surprise that Iggy played the best he’s played in years? He was probably polishing off the wrenches every night after a finals win. LeBron and his intramural rec league team never stood a chance.
On a more serious note, has anyone checked in on Mark Jackson? I’m legitimately concerned for his well being..

10 years ago at 4:29 pm1.Only player in nba history to quit because of air conditioner
2.Quit on his team the year after he promises a championship
3.Dunked on by a high school kid then confiscates the tape
4.Bail on the dunk contest 9 times
5.Only able to win a ring with 2 superstars
6.Play on same team as his moms boyfriend
7.Average 1.8 pts in the 4th quarter of NBA finals.
8.Lose not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 times in the Finals.
9.Host a national televised TV show to leave his team
10.Go 2 for 18 in an NBA playoff game.
11.Get stuffed by a player under 6 feet (Nate Robinson)
12.Flop every single game in the playoffs
13.Choke 4 out of 5 finals games by dropping FG% by 18
14.0 Rings if not for refs calling early fouls on Durant and Westbrook it threw them out of rhythm, made them play soft and sit for big parts of the game which changed the flow and momentum of the finals.
15. Shoot a terrible percentage in an elimination game at 13-33 to match his finals record of all time.
16. Calls himself the greatest in the world, only to lose the next game in his hometown.
17. Insults the fans of the NBA and “their personal problems” because he lost in the NBA finals.
18. Sits on the floor and whines after a non-call instead of getting back on defense.
Finally someone who doesn’t love LeBron’s dick.
