Stupid Rumor Of The Week: Sigma Chi At The University Of Houston Violated The Geneva Convention By Waterboarding Pledges With Alcohol

There are a lot of people piggybacking off the negative publicity from the OU SAE scandal and taking cheap shots at fraternity life.
Most of it is just the same old stuff–unsubstantiated rumors and conjecture based on little evidence. However, this rumor courtesy of Gawker Media (surprise, surprise), was too good not to share. It comes from a tipster who claims to be an employee at the University of Houston with insider information about the school’s Sigma Chi chapter that was suspended ten days ago.
Via Gawker:
I currently work at the University of Houston, and I just wanted to give you a quick update that we all found out this morning.
The “hazing” that Sigma Chi was charged with was actually WATERBOARDING PLEDGES with alcohol.
The news has been going around different departments on campus all morning.
The tipster continues:
I’ve spoken with students today, but I guess technically it’s all hearsay—-students who know members of Sigma Chi, who know girls who party there, etc. So nothing is officially documented. But like I said, e v e r y o n e is talking about this on campus today. Our Greek system is pretty small compared to other schools, so I believe it since the information is so specific.
What do you mean it’s “technically hearsay”? You mean hearsay, right? Follow the trail of information and you can see this could very easily be a game of telephone. A media outlet is sharing information from an anonymous tipster who was told by some girls who know members of Sigma Chi who may or may not of divulged this likely classified fraternity information. Yeah, OK.
This is one I haven’t heard before, but I’d be lying if I said my first reaction wasn’t a sheer amount hardy laughter. Waterboarding pledges with alcohol? That is insane. Who knew a fraternity was even capable of violating Common Article Three of the Geneva Convention.
University of Houston’s administration would not comment on whether alcoholic waterboarding was the incident that got the chapter suspended..

“But it’d be a lot cooler if you did.”
11 years ago at 5:18 pmI hope they didn’t use any good alcohol if they did waterboard.
11 years ago at 5:20 pmPBR probably. Need to haze the GDI out of them. Nothing wrong with that
11 years ago at 5:30 pmI swear man it’s the liberals

11 years ago at 5:32 pmFuck you
11 years ago at 9:15 pmugh
11 years ago at 5:33 pmIs that considered hazing? Or a reward? Because the TFM book made it sound pretty cool for Townes and Monte.
11 years ago at 5:43 pmUH has a terrible Greek life anyway
11 years ago at 5:52 pmFuck you
11 years ago at 7:49 pmThey hate us cause they anus
11 years ago at 6:12 pmHey CIA there’s your loophole dumbasses. Instead of using water use everclear. And call it clear boarding instead of water boarding. I’ll be waiting for your call.
11 years ago at 6:17 pmIn other news, certain unspecified sources from within the Greek community in the United States have allegedly heard from other unspecified sources regarding the (technically) hearsay stemmings from an unspecified fraternity claiming that a different unspecified fraternity collaborated with ISIS. Sources who have nothing to do with this whatsoever have also told me that the Greek Community is responsible for the Ebola outbreak, ovarian cancer and Satan himself.

11 years ago at 8:47 pmPlease feel free to repeat your asinine comment to the FDNY, I’m sure they’d be enthralled to hear it.
11 years ago at 9:03 pmI’m just asking questions.
11 years ago at 9:10 pmObviously you have no understanding of thermodynamics and mechanical engineering. Heat a metal beam that is under load and it will flex, and eventually fail. Also, chemtrails aren’t real, you communist fuck.
11 years ago at 11:27 pmToo bad the “questions” phrased as statements, you are asking are stupid. Also as previously stated when taking the load under stress of a beam that is compensating for 60 beams that have just been sheared in half; jet fuel will superheat the beam causing it to be structurally compromised.
11 years ago at 3:26 pmShut the fuck up you conspiracy theorist asshole
11 years ago at 9:24 amYou should get blackballed for saying that again.
11 years ago at 4:02 pmWow his trolling comment just went straight over all your heads.
