If Ted Cruz’s recent “Conservatives Anonymous” ad is any indication on where he stands on certain policies, then we know he’s not a big fan of Marco Rubio or softcore porn actresses.

Cruz recently debuted the ad featuring several would-be conservative voters talking in a group counseling setting. One of the voters says he was hurt when a candidate he voted for “played patticake with Chuck Schumer and cut a deal on Amnesty” — a clear shot at Rubio’s past bipartisan immigration reform. Shortly after, a woman chimes in saying, “Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time.” That actress turned out to be adult film star Amy Lindsay.

Lindsay’s film history, famous for her roles in adult/erotic films “Deviant Whores,” “Kinky Sex Club,” “The Erotic Traveler,” and more, was seemingly unknown to the producers of the ad. The Daily Caller spotted her and quickly checked with Cruz’s camp for a statement:

‘The actress responded to an open casting call,’ Cruz campaign national press secretary Catherine Frazier told TheDC. ‘She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the casting company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad. The campaign is taking the ad down and will replace it with a different commercial.’

Oops. I guess Google searches aren’t part of background checks anymore. Regardless, why not let the ad play? Pulling it down creates more attention than if you were to let it play. Pornstars are people too.

Lindsay, who’s appeared in non-erotic movies like “Star Trek” and even has a degree from UT Austin, was unhappy with Cruz’s decision:

She’s showing some serious attitude. She got paid for the ad, got a ton of media exposure and she’s STILL ungrateful?! You know what, Lindsay?! I’ll tell you what you can do with your acting skills/journalism degree. You can take your journalism degree, résumé and three samples of your writing, march right down to TFM offices and stick it in our mailboxes. And maybe, just maybe, we’ll review it and give you a call in 3-5 business days. Ugh.
