I laughed this evening as I put my Z71 in 4 low before cutting through a ditch to go around a Prius that was stuck in the snow. TFM.

      You are correct in general, 4H for snowy *roads*.

      OP said, however, that he switched to 4L because he was “cutting through a ditch,” in which case it is totally appropriate. I just hope he remembered to switch back after the short off-road jaunt.

      or you could just drive a jeep and stay in 2wd the whole time with no worries
