and yeah, the New Deal was NF, but it could have gone worse, as in we could have scrapped everything that makes America what it is and turn to socialism (see: Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Communist Russia)
Because of the New Deal and the changes that were implemented, when WWII came around we were able to act quicker and faster in terms of production and mobility. Buildings don’t go up unless you have a foundation. The New Deal was the foundation and WWII served as the building on top. Both played equally important roles in getting the US out of the depression.
Have some goddamn respect. This post was aimed at honoring and appreciating troops on Memorial day. I’m not a Democrat nor a huge FDR fan but this quote is meant to celebrate all the men fighting for us to have good lives here in this great country. Put politics aside for a second and celebrate the US Armed Forces that give us the right to have these political opinions and be able to enjoy our TFMs. No matter how NF the New Deal was, get a grip, Jesus. Sorry about the rant but it had to be said when not one positive comment is on this post.
Thank you. i think FDR was a socialist who got lucky cause the New Deal didn’t help us out, only expand the role of government, but this is a great quote
