Turn that sideways and it says the patent date was July 5? Being productive enough to get a patent, or do anything but keep drinking, after raging all night for America’s birthday. NF.

The Patent was submitted July 18th, 1901, and approved the 5th of July. From this you can safely assume that JimCrow’s ancestors spent a solid 13 days of raging post 4th of July before submitting their idea for patent approval. Which, of course, is to symbolize the original 13 colonies. I shall now re-iterate FratFavre and directly quote: “Keep the Change, please find the nearest ledge and kindly step off.”

Fratadore Brosevelt if you could read you’d see it was approved July 5, 1902.

Didn’t think it was pertinent to mention that, usually vision / reading comprehension is pretty handy, my apologies.

Actually it says “PAT. July 5, 1892” and then Edison’s signature is dated July 18th, 1901.
