Gated neighborhoods are tacky and scream new money. If you go to a gated community, chances are you will see grown ass men wearing Ed Hardy. Old money neighborhoods were built decades before the electric gate.
Raiderfrat, that’s what I was thinking. A neighborhood shouldn’t be gated to prove it exclusive, it’s reputation should make it exclusive. Perfect example is the Park Cities (University Park and Highland Park). Unless you are in the upper upper class, you can’t live there, financially or socially, and believe me, I’ve seen people try. A middle class person can actually find a gated community relatively cheap these days. But gated communities also make it seem like you’re afraid of something.
The frattiest one might be the one on beverly with the american flag though. But having a lawn ornament on the lawn all year kinda kills the frattyness.
Always Fratty, Always: Underneath the American Flag on Sam Wyly’s lawn is “One Nation, Many Faiths.” That tolerance is the epitome of NF.
My lawn a few blocks away might be a better example.
Just wait. There is nothing wrong with this post, but someone will find a way to say this post is NF.

14 years ago at 12:42 amI don’t know how this is a frat move… Just to be clear, I’m not saying it’s necessarily not frat, I just know that GDIs can do Christmas lights, too.
14 years ago at 7:25 pmExactly my thoughts. I’ve heard there are lots of GDIs who have incredibly tacky decorations that people like to drive by and see too.
