I fucking hate A&M. Not so much the school, but definitely the people. Such a shit-hole town with cock sucking ‘traditions’. Its like a fucking cult that brainwashes all their people. Your school is NOT top tier. Get over it.

You “already tired” of the $17MM paycheck we’re going to provide each of your teams? No? Good, shut the fuck up.

    2. The Piker

Hey, Lucas, we made 17 each last year. This year, with a 13th member, we stand to actually lose 0.7M of that 17.2, even with a slightly restructured local TV deal with FSN.

14 years ago at 5:38 am
    3. Lucas Fratterson

Just saw it. First off, the FSN doesn’t televise SEC tier 1 or tier 2 conference games, and thus makes no significant dent or addition in conference revenues.

Secondly, Slive is working on the renegotiated contract with CBS (read: NOT FSN) and ESPN to account for A&M. You have to be a completely incompetent mathematician to think the schools would make less when A&M is added. Slive wouldn’t take A&M (and neither would the school Presidents) if it meant his schools would lose money.

Early projections for the teamly payout of the new contract is around $34MM. You have to figure in the fact that since the signing of the current contract, the value of college football has skyrocketed. That’s why you see Pac 12 teams making $27MM per year since they renegotiated just this year. Jealous? Well, you’re welcome for fixing it.

You’re aware the SEC just expanded its geographical footprint by 33%? To think SEC schools would lose money is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

14 years ago at 9:01 pm
    4. The Piker

In 2012, SEC schools are projected to lose 0.7 M. Not in 10 years, but by next year. Also, if you really think we stand to double our payout, after just signing television deals within the last 3 years, then A&M’s business school must be shitty as fuck.

Well, Crown and Coke, our ranking indicates that we don’t “suck at football”, but let’s put that to the side. We have almost 400,000 alumni across the country and 50,000 current students. We have a massive tv market in a massive state. We allow the SEC to expand its footprint of exposure. We bring the SEC another huge stadium, huge fanbase, huge payout, and great tradition.

My list of reasons could go on for days, but I don’t want to confuse your poor head.

    2. Fratastic Voyage UTT

the stadium is not that big yall may have a large fan base but, other than to yall’s brainwashed fans atm just isn’t that marketable. And history has proven that atm isnt that good, I mean the school is all about history and tradition but they couldn’t even overcome their biggest rival to take over the big 12 so they decided to leave like a kid on the playground that has done so much screaming cause his swing got taken that they finally left. Long analogy but I’m a huge UT fan always have been and attend the school and this was the team for yall to make a move and actually do something. SEC=bad decision

14 years ago at 4:25 pm
    3. Lucas Fratterson

It’s quite hilarious to hear Texas fans talk about how we’re leaving because we couldn’t beat them. Yeah, a lack of wins is why we’re going to the best football conference in the country. That makes alot of sense.

In addition, our president has said repeatedly that we will play UT anytime, anywhere, and in any sport. Ball’s in your court to play us. If you don’t want to, that’s fine, but don’t sit here and tell us we’re scared of you. The conference is unbalanced from a school revenue standpoint, and THAT is why we’re leaving.

But, by all means, you guys have fun playing a horrendously boring and pussy schedule, not playing A&M knowing you’ll lose, and just praying you don’t draw an SEC opponent in a bowl game. Like I’ve been saying, around your 5th loss of the season, you guys should probably stop fellating yourselves and realize you’re the problem, and that’s why 3 teams have left.

14 years ago at 8:38 pm
    4. Fratastic Voyage UTT

if yall took over the conference yall wouldnt have a money problem and to be honest if yall did i would give it to yall but i wouldnt even want our team in the SEC so it has to be a bad decision. If atm does well i will bite my tongue and applaud the aggies but I dont think to many people see that happening. But hey in the spirit of good sportsmanship GOOD LUCK

A&M goes 2-6 in conference play, loses every Houston recruit to the SEC, loses every other Texas recruit to UT, and then begs to rejoin the Big 12.

14 years ago at 4:14 pm
    1. Costa580

Probably one of the dumber things I’ve heard about Texas A&M moving to the SEC. Losing recruits will not be an issue. In fact it will help A&M by getting better recruits and stealing recruits from Texas. Being apart of the SEC it almost recruits for them. Every player in High school wants to play against the best(SEC)

God, I hate to agree with a Pike, but so true. They could end up bad as 7-12 overall this year, which was supposed to be their year. Vandy, Miss St, Ole Miss are all in the SEC and none of them are Alabama, LSU, Auburn, or Florida just because of the conference. A&M is about to destroy their recruiting base, harm the football in the state of Texas, and get destroyed for a decade plus. They will not gain more national exposure – actually I guess they will. They’ll be an embarrassment in the SEC for the world to see instead of a second tier power in the Big12. What they gain in TV money, they’ll more than lose from donors when they suck. What a terrible terrible decision. I hope UT refuses to schedule them ever again. What new money trash.

Frataholic, you should crawl back in the bottle and leave football analysis to the men. We will not be the embarrassment to Texas football that the longhorn network is. And tu not schedule us? Ha, yea, I bet they’ll be thrilled with their newfound Texas Tech rivalry. And to whatever backhome, fuck your aunt in the ear, school you go to, I offer a sincere FUCK OFF from the oldest university in Texas

Ummfrat, College Station is a bumfuck town in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. Your football team is incredibly overrated and will be lucky to finish in the top 15 this year. Also, when y’all do get to the SEC, you’ll be the fucking tune up game doormat to the whole conference except for probably two teams. Texas will take all it’s money the network brings and still continue to have a better record than A&M. Good luck.

Ummfrat, Southwestern is the oldest university in the state, you dumb fuck. Founded 1840 by the Republic of Texas. And if you actually go to Southwestern, you do not belong on this website, or in a fraternity you cargo short wearing geed. Which I guess equally applies to A&M too.

    6. Fine back in line

I like how Aggies always consider themselves our biggest rival. Yes, we’ve played you longer than any other school, however, we have a record of 75-37-5 against you. That’s a pretty weak rivalry. Ya’ll will and always have been our retarded little brother. Also, we won’t need a “newfound Texas Tech rivarly” because we’ve got Oklahoma, which is arguably one of the top 3 biggest college football rivalries. And, our record is a much closer 59-41-5 against the Sooners.

14 years ago at 10:47 pm
    7. Lucas Fratterson

Fine Back in Line, we’ve won 3 of the last 5, 8 of the last 15, and 13 of the last 25. I don’t give a fuck about what happened in 1907. Stop fellating yourselves.

Tell Mike Slive that College Station is “a bumfuck town in the middle of bumfuck nowhere”. He seems to think it’s an incredible fit when compared to other SEC towns.

But I suppose you’re smarter than the SEC Commissioner, right?

14 years ago at 12:44 am
    1. Lucas Fratterson

Too bad your commissioner, school Presidents, chancellors, and athletic directors do. Better go talk to them you ignorant piece of shit.

14 years ago at 12:32 am
    2. The Piker

Lucas, don’t be so pissy that fans don’t want A&M. Yes, our ADs and commissioners want you guys. Listen to our local radio stations, and non-national interviews with coaches and players, and you will realize that most are hesitant about the acquisition. Its not so much that you aren’t going to be able to compete, its the awkward scheduling that comes with a 13th program, and the other sports that will be hurt with this move, that cause fans to be upset with the change. We were the best conference with 12 teams, so why add on a another? Yes, we may come into more money, and it may help the conference’s brand long term, but right now, fans just see it as fixing something that is working fine. The tinkering, in our eyes, may end up hurting something that is currently great. So, really, stop acting like you guys are an SEC team, until you have proven something. If you guys stop posting on messageboards and TFM like you already are a significant part of the league, and drop the “fuck you, UT” shit, maybe we will warm up to you faster (because, lets face it, you are only leaving because you are butthurt about not being as good as UT, and its embarrassing that we are taking the Big 12’s scraps, and not the prime cuts of meat that are OK and UT).

14 years ago at 2:41 am
    3. Lucas Fratterson

Wow. You actually had a decent post until that idiotic and misinformed tangent about UT at the end. We have repeatedly stated we want to continue playing UT. We are not scared of them. We’ll play them any time.

Most of the informed SEC realizes the poison that UT is to a conference. There’s a reason Arkansas left in 1992(4 maybe), Colorado and Nebraska left last year, and A&M left this year. None of which being that they were jealous of UT’s success.

There are always ways to improve things, especially business. I’ve never seen a boardroom meeting where the members are talking about maintaining the size of their business. You have to enhance your image and dominate your competition (other conferences). The SEC standing still would have resulted in a long term lessening of your image (when super conferences come).

Get your head off of UT’s nuts and back your newest member. You do nothing productive sitting here spouting off incorrect minutia.

14 years ago at 8:53 pm
    4. texasfrat

let’s be honest, the only reason you fucks say you want to keep playing UT is so you don’t have to rewrite that inferiority complex-driven “war hymn.” listen: you are not our main rival. we don’t give two shits about you. enjoy mediocrity in the SEC.

14 years ago at 11:30 pm
    5. The Piker

I will not back A&M until you are part of our conference, and even then, you will be my least favorite team, and I honestly don’t give a shit if you lose your nonleague games even once you are a member. You are not a real part of the SEC until you bring something positive to us, and all you’ve done so far is become a bitching, complaining distraction on the side of an otherwise great football season for the SEC.

14 years ago at 11:54 pm
    1. BROld Spice

Teams who can’t win here generally feel that way. Everyone complains that the BCS favors the best conference. It’s not our fault that the best team from our conference always ends up defeating the best from anywhere else.

Oh, and fuck Bama and Florida. Georgia, too. Fuck ’em all.
