You may all go to hell, and we will go to the SEC. TFM.

I am pretty sure nearly all schools have a similar GPA distribution. Academic prestige would be what you are aiming for…fucking retard.

GPAs don’t matter when you’re rich and know people in high places. A 2.0 can still land a six figure starting salary.

^ I’d bet a lot of money that you aren’t rich, have no connections, and struggle to maintain that anything higher than a 2.5

Nobody has said that A&M is going to come in and win games. Overall a better move for A&M

^ If they wanted to win games they would just go to the Pac 12, but that’s not the point

    4. TXKA

fratczar.. Its better for A&M in the long run, and it will be better for the SEC too. Both SEC and Texas A&M will get better recruiting. What kid doesn’t want to play in the best conference in the nation, and what conference doesn’t want to get their hands on recruits from Texas? And thats only one reason! Did you just get smarter?

14 years ago at 12:21 am
    5. Lucas Fratterson

What shitty football team that we beat last year do you support, red white and geed? OU? Nebraska? Texas? You’re an idiot.

TXKA is the only person here with any thinking ability.

14 years ago at 12:34 am
    6. Frataholic

TXKA, that’s the popular logic. However, when they get destroyed for several years and are the new Miss St, versus UT/OU with an easier road to championships, that recruit will be making a decision between UT/OU or LSU/Ark/Alabama. A&M recruiting will be hurt at least in the mid-term. If they can slowly rebuild their program to compete in 10-15 years then maybe it will work out for them, but for the foreseeable future it’ll hurt. Financially I think it’s a wash. They’ll take some more TV money, but they’ll lose donors when they suck worse than normal for an extended period.

Far as SEC recruiting access, I’m pretty sure Alabama can go anywhere they want. I don’t think the fact that A&M is on their schedule really increases their chances of pulling a guy out of Houston. They can already do that if they want.

Fratterson, how’s losing to Oklahoma State the last two years treating you? They all may be shitty teams with the exception of UT, but at least they could handle the red headed step child (read A&M) of Oklahoma.

14 years ago at 12:09 pm
    8. Lucas Fratterson

Wow, Frataholic. This move has made us gain more donors and more donations than ever. Why the fuck would anyone pull back their donations and season ticket purchases when we’re playing a more exciting schedule? In fact, A&M has already secured millions in new donations pursuant to this move that A&M is planning on using to renovate Kyle Field. That was reaching at its best, buddy.

SEC teams stand to make $34MM per year with A&M in the fold. Know what they make now? $17MM. Know what A&M made in the Big 12? $20MM. Financially it’s a wash? I think not.

Finally, if you think recruits want “an easier road to championships”, you are sadly mistaken. Recruits want to go to the NFL. The SEC demonstrably provides the best training ground for that.

14 years ago at 8:48 pm
    9. Frataholic

We’ll see. The donors are excited right now because they think they’re sticking it to Texas and going to a better conference. That’s a very temporary situation. When they are posting below 500 seasons and are completely irrelevant, the donors will have a different view, as will the recruits. Yes recruits want to go to the NFL, and that’s about exposure. Champions get exposure, doormats don’t. You put the best running back in the world behind a shit line and he’s going to look like a chump. You have an optimistic view right now, and good for you, but the SEC has a way of destroying the dreams of the weak and making them look like hipsters on bid day. Looking up at Miss St is no way to go through life. Enjoy your moment in the sun. I’m just saying mark my words so when what I’m saying comes to pass in a couple years you’ll understand why I’m laughing my ass off at your dumb ass.

Why can’t you SEC pricks stop being dicks and let us, the Aggies, be welcomed into the SEC. Accept the fact that we want to be in the best football conference in the nation because yes, the SEC does bread National Championships and we want to be a part of that. We may not win it this year or the next, but just like any other team who moves in to a different conference, give us a couple of years and we will see. I’m glad we are done with the Big XII and the SEC should be a whole different level of competition that we are ready for. Thanks, Gig’em.

so you never won the big 12 south and now you’re ready for the competition in the SEC? Makes sense to me…

    5. Lucas Fratterson

Actually Barry, you retarded dumbass waste of human flesh, we won the Big 12 South just last year. And we won a Big 12 championship around its inception.

Take a fucking lap and shut your damn mouth.

    6. Capitalism

you had a three way tie for the south last year…which basically means you’re just in the upper half of the division and you won the big 12 in 98 when texas and ou were both down. Oh almost forgot to mention 0-4 against OSU last 4 years. Now thats what I call a great “tradition”

14 years ago at 12:11 pm
    7. Barry Badrinath

lucas, thats funny you mention that because i didn’t see you in the big 12 title game last year. tying for first doesn’t matter for shit if you aren’t playing for all the marbles.kinda funny you have to take your aggression out online, makes you sound like a little bitch but I guess sexual frustration will do that to someone.

14 years ago at 7:47 pm
    8. Lucas Fratterson

You know what you did see in the Big 12 title game? Two teams that we beat.

All of our players have rings to prove our winning of the Big 12 last year. That’s something that the Big 12’s shitty ex commissioner signed off on, the other teams agreed to, and our teams earned. If you have a problem, consult the Big 12. But don’t say we haven’t won the Big 12 South.

Capitalism, the circumstances surrounding A&M’s win in ’98 are quite irrelevant. Barry said we’ve never won the Big 12. I said we did. Your research proves we actually did. Not really sure what you’re trying to argue.

So you know Davy Crockett was from Tennessee… where we have 2 schools in the SEC. Which he then LEFT to go to Texas. So the man you derived this from actually did the opposite.

    1. southernclass15

congratu-fucking-lations. you had $5.7 billion in alumni endowments, so basically your alumni bought your bid into the SEC. this was not about your mediocre football team but how much money you would pay the teams in the conference to whoop your ass each week.

cut em some slack, they’re minimizing their losses, to The University of Texas at least

That’s why our President has publicly stated on several occasions that he is willing to match our teams against UT anytime, anywhere? Right?

Do Texas fans have a single intelligent piece of shit talk to put forth to A&M regarding this move? Haven’t seen one so far.

14 years ago at 12:39 am
    2. James Parks Fratwell

Just because A&M’s president says anywhere, anytime, doesn’t mean Texas wouldn’t continue to haze yal year in and year out. This is your typical “rivalry runaway.” Can’t beat em? Well let’s buy our way into a better conference and pretend that we can.

14 years ago at 8:15 am
    3. Lucas Fratterson

No one is saying that’s what it means. But it DOES clearly mean that we’re not scared of Texas whatsoever, and it certainly means that a fear of Texas was NOT the motivation behind this move.

They won’t stand for our tyranny in the Big 12? Well let’s just tell everyone they’re scared of us.
