Fratagonias are the tits, once pikes start wearing north face I gave mine to goodwill. Figured since thats where most of them shop, I would make someone’s christmas a little better.
All of you take laps. Chouinard founded Patagonia so that his rock climbing equipment would have less of an impact on the environment. Patagonia is about as tree hugger as it gets.
It seems like Patagonia is not faring well either. They recently ran an ad that encouraged consumers to not buy their products to strike a blow in favor of the war on consumerism and promote pro-environment bullshit. Openly promoting an anti-business, pro-environment corporate philosophy is definitely NF. Here’s the ad: http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/ad-day-patagonia-136745
I think the ad is brilliant marketing by a capitalistic company that happens to be more responsible than others. Tricking liberals with reverse psychology and profiting from it, FaF.
Exactly, when did taking care of the environment become NF? Conservation is… wait for it, conservative. You don’t like hunting and fishing? Teddy Roosevelt: conservationist, environmentalist, FaF.
^ What the fuck are you talking about? Theodore Roosevelt is arguably most famous for his trust-busting of Standard Oil / JP Morgan, and slightly less famous for the Elkins and Hepburn Acts. He is most decidedly NF.
Capitalism is FaF. If Teddy didn’t like it, he shouldn’t have stayed here. Capitalism is the essence of America. You can do what you want, but I’m not going to sit here and listen to you bad-mouth the United States of America.
put his imperialistic ideals and Ron’s economic scheme together and you’d have the greatest GOP president of all time…maybe throw in G.W.’s charm and sense of humor for the uninformed voters.
I like Patagonia, but it definitely is one of the most liberal companies out there. Everything it markets towards, liberal as fuck. That is also not the first ad they put out like that. They have always said, “Do not buy our products unless you need them.” It’s just their way of being honest which attracts loyal customers.
I hate North Face shit…seems like as soon as it hits 50 degrees every poor on campus grabs their favorite black jacket.
