THC Found In Water Supply In Colorado Town, I’m Moving There Tomorrow

The town of Hugo, Colorado, has a bit more than fluoride running through their water pipes. The town was discovered to have small amounts of THC in its water, and it might be harmful to some or all of the 800 residents if consumed.

On Thursday afternoon, authorities notified the town of about 800 people that the water should not be drunk, used to cook with or even to bathe. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment later downgraded the warning – it was safe to shower, brush teeth and do laundry with the tap water. Ingestion remained inadvisable.

There have not been reports of health issues linked to Hugo’s water, according to an AP report. Nor did every Colorado local seem terribly distraught by the idea of a cool glass of THC.

“I might have to go drink some water,” Patsie Smith, the former mayor of Hugo, quipped to the Denver Post.

Patsie sounds like a great time, and I regret that she’s the “former” mayor. It almost makes me not want to move to cozy Hugo, but not quite. Between THC in the water supply and marijuana-laced consumer products such as pizza and lotion, I could definitely get used to the mountain west life. All joking aside though, the THC in the water could apparently be harmful to groups such as infants, the elderly, and people who can’t handle their ganj.

It was discovered by authorities that one of the wells in the town showed signs of forced entry, and that makes me think that someone just wanted everybody to have a good time. I like the sentiment, but there are probably much better ways to do that without contaminating water..
