The Badgers May Have Lost, But The Partying In Madison Rolls On
There is something in the water in Madison, and I am pretty sure that “something” is beer. As the weeks go by, I become more and more convinced that admission into the University of Wisconsin is based more on drinking abilities than academic achievements. A couple weeks ago, we brought you the most recent campus arrest statistics, and the University of Wisconsin system continued to prove their love of drinking, drugs, and other illegal nonsense. Sure enough, they’re back in the news for their love of anything alcoholic, regardless of the event.
The Wisconsin basketball team may have lost to Kentucky, but that seemed to have little to no effect on the students’ desire to party last weekend. Between Friday and Sunday morning, more than 10 people (seven of them students) had to go to an alcohol detoxification treatment center. Two students let their rage boners loose a little early on Saturday and required transportation to the detox center before their Final Four game even started. To give you an idea as to how extraordinary that number is, the UW police report bringing around six people to the detox center throughout the entire football season, and that school definitely doesn’t skip the booze for football.
One student in particular was found passed out on the floor of a campus dining hall bathroom with a BAC of .37, which is otherwise known as 4.5 times the legal driving limit. After several minutes of attempting to wake up the intoxicated reveler, he finally awoke and was unable to give police his name, the date, or the location. When asked what day it was, he responded, “a.m.”
Keep raging, Wisconsin. I sure wish I could be there. With that said, I’ll leave you with a video of one of the best student sections in the country.

While Madison is super liberal… I would contend Wisconsin for #1 Fratty State in the Midwest.
