The Official 2016 Frat Bracket: Elite Eight
Forget March Madness; this is March Fratness. The most fraternal objects, concepts, and actions, all duking it out to see what will reign supreme as 2016’s most frat thing — 100% decided by all of you. Big things went down in the Sweet Sixteen contests, as we saw a 14 seed best a 2 seed and the first-ever overtime matchup in tournament history. Who will be crowned regional champs? Let’s get to our first region.
Note: Bracket regions are named after the four main frat regions in a purely ceremonial manner. The things listed under them do not necessarily have any specific relationship with that respective frat region.
The East Coast Region
#1 Natural Light vs. #2 Golf
One of two chalk regional finals matchups in this year’s Frat Bracket is the battle between 1 and 2 seeds Natural Light and golf respectively. If you can believe it, golf and intramurals’ Sweet Sixteen voting ended up in a 50-50 draw. So I had to take it into the Frat Bracket’s first-ever overtime period.
Overall, which is more frat? This is an overtime matchup, so polls will close in 5 minutes.

At the end of OT, a winner emerged — golf, ending IM sports’ Cinderella run. Now, Natural Light looks to end Golf’s run in this high-profile Elite Eight matchup. It’s a shame they’re meeting here, as either of these are deserving of a Final Four spot. But, alas, there can only be one.

The West Coast Region
#9 5″ inseam shorts vs. #14 Shower beers
Two Cinderellas battle it out to see who will be crowned king of the West Coast region. This is what March Fratness is all about. At least a 9 seed in the Final Four, maybe even a 14??? I love it. I love everything about it. Regardless of who wins and who loses, the defeated party can hold their head up high, knowing they defied all odds, and staked their claim to every fraternity man’s respect.

The Midwest Region
#2 Sperry Top-Sider vs. #8 Beer pong
This is a matchup between two early-2000s frat staples, and I couldn’t be happier to see them face off. The Sperry is the most frat shoe there is (followed by New Balance’s frat cruisers), and beer pong is the most frat drinking game ever conceived. If fraternity men care about two things (which might be a stretch, given “TFTC” culture), it’s their appearance and their drunkenness — and this matchup marks the most high-profile contest between frat appearance and frat drunkenness of all-time. Give it the respect it deserves and cast your vote.

The South Region
#1 Butt stuff vs. #2 Hazing
The second of two chalk regional finals matchups, which is fitting seeing as the round of 64 in the South Region went completely chalk as well. I’m no frat expert, but… well, actually, I am. And I think that if hazing can’t take down #1 butt stuff, it’s very possible that nothing can. This is the most important contest to be voted on thus far in the tournament. Can’t wait to see how it ends up.
