^^ first thing, I like the name sir. In my opinion, since Rubio is so young and has such a promising career in national politics, it would have been foolish to put him through this process of character assassination and negative spotlight that would have inevitably come upon him if selected as VP. His image would have been tarnished such as what they did to Sarah Palin.. The GOP wants Rubio to run for president in the future and will mold him in upcoming years to do so.
According to polls Rubio wouldn’t have even made a dent in the Hispanic vote. Something like 28 vs 26 percent of Hispanics would vote for Romney with Rubio.
Face it, the Hispanics are nearly as homogenous politically as the black vote. And you better get used to it because the future of America sure as fuck isn’t white.
At current rates, by the time our grandkids are born, somewhere around 35% of Americans babies will be white. With the death of white poewr comes the death of the GOP as we know it.
Traditionally, Hispanics are more conservative simply because of their religious views. However, with a majority of them being in the lower class and Obama pandering to them regarding the economy and immigration, Rubio would’ve been able to help get at least some of their vote. They want to see a Hispanic VP and with what’s expected to be such a close election, every little bit helps.
Cubans and Latinos are different. There is a Hispanic caste system with cubans on top. Cubans are legal and work hard and are proud citizens where as mex.icans are usually illegal. Cubans look down upon other Latino cultures
