The Only 4 Teams The Big 12 Should Consider Adding

Big 12

The Big 12 really missed the boat on expansion a few years ago when they had the chance to add teams like Pittsburgh and Louisville to get themselves back to 12 teams. Instead, they decided West Virginia and TCU were good enough. However, the Big 12 is finally realizing they need to expand and are potentially looking at adding four teams. Teams like Houston, Cincinnati, Memphis, UConn, and UCF have all been talked about as options. But I have four better options the Big 12 should be considering.

SMU

The Big 12 has been out of the spotlight lately. No one really talks about them, and for good reason. What’s the best way to get people talking? A good, ol’ fashioned football scandal. Not just any scandal works, either — sorry, Baylor. The Big 12 need a team like SMU to come in and be a scapegoat. Turn a blind eye to the handshake deals and the sorority girls being passed around by recruits in order to wear some expensive fur coat. Let SMU snag a top 10 class and become a Cinderella story that everyone is talking about. Then, after they are on the verge of a title, slam them shut. Give them the death penalty part 2 and kick them out. A high profile team will be willing to join to fill that void. One that doesn’t cheat, like an Ole Miss-type *wink*.

North Dakota State

The Big 12 needs some championship-caliber teams. Kansas, Iowa St., and West Virginia just aren’t going to cut it. They need teams that win the big games. Teams like Ohio State. Since they can’t go out and sway the Buckeyes into joining the Big 12, the only other option is the national powerhouse that is the Bison of FCS school North Dakota State. The Bison have won five straight FCS titles and already seem to beat a Big 12 team once a year, so the fit is perfect. This kind of move adds some pop to what’s an okay lineup right now. Gotta think the Bison are competing in the playoffs each year.

Alabama A&M

The Big 12 misses Texas A&M and wishes they had Alabama. What better compromise than snagging Alabama A&M? The Big 12 is all about inclusion and being progressive. That’s why Alabama A&M makes so much sense. They aren’t too shabby either in the tradition department. They’ve put some guys in the league. John Stallworth and Robert Mathis — you may have heard of them.

University of Texas

Now, I know what you guys may be thinking. “Harrison, Texas is already in the Big 12, you retard.” They are… but are they really? Ever since Colt McCoy’s arm turned into a noodle, Texas has been completely silent. In all sports, really. The Big 12 used to churn based on the success of Texas and Oklahoma. Now that it’s just Oklahoma and Baylor going all rape factory on the world, the Big 12 needs Texas more than ever. Maybe, just maybe, the Longhorns can show up just one time and become the same team that had nine straight 10-win seasons and twelve straight nine-plus win seasons. They have the talent to get there.

The less influence Texas has on the Big 12, the better, their shitty LHN is what caused Nebraska to leave, leading to the others jumping ship.

NDSU actually just won their 5th straight title, not their 4th straight. They should’ve moved up a long, long time ago. Though, I get that this is a satire.

Actually, when I wrote the comment it said four. In fact, I looked it up before I posted the comment just to be sure. Believe it or not, it’s possible to edit an article.

North Dakota state or SMU? Please. Let’s be honest, Rice would deserve an invite before SMU…even if SMU did have a few great seasons in the 80s before getting the electric chair.
