The South Carolina Gamecocks Are Proudly Leading The Nation In Fans Ejected From Football Games

As their fight song would suggest, Gamecock fans are apparently leading the way in stadium ejections, according to a new report.

Unranked in the polls, but no. 1 in our hearts.

KGW-TV in Portland requested security records from all 128 major college football programs to figure out if college football fans are getting too rowdy. I know, you’ve got to be a major wet blanket to do an exposé on this topic in the first place, but I’m glad we’ve got the info.

Damn, Gamecocks. You wild, huh?! With a mascot like that, you kind of have to be. I wouldn’t want to stick around to see Will Muschamp’s shitty excuse of a rushing attack either, though.

The majority of ejections, according to the report, not surprisingly stemmed from alcohol and/or fighting. Honestly, I enjoy a good old fashioned fight in the stands. I’m not going to go to a game unless there’s at least a 10 percent chance of a riot busting out. You gotta be on your toes, kids.

As if this report couldn’t get much better, some schools reported seeing a DECREASE in ejections when they started selling alcohol inside the stadium.

Last season, Ohio State University started selling beer and wine at home games. Ohio State officials said they actually experienced fewer problems with fans than in previous years.

In 2016, Ohio State ejected 25 fans, down from 84 in 2015 and 104 in 2014.

“I think people feel like they don’t have to binge drink before the game to keep their buzz. They know they can get a beer inside the stadium,” said Mike Penner, senior associate athletic director for internal operations at Ohio State. “They’re drinking a little more responsibly.”

Fuck. Did you feel that? That’s what we call a semi-chub. Feel free to take this report to your athletic committee when you gather enough signatures to get them to sell alcohol in your stadium. Only losers fight after drinking too much beer. It’s that whiskey that’s a sneaky little bitch.
