Theta Chi Member Proposes To Girlfriend In Mall Food Court In Worst April Fools Joke Fucking Ever
A little piece of Fail Friday is coming to you on a Tuesday, and for two reasons: 1) today is April Fools Day so this particular story is timely, and 2) this shit is just too good (bad) to wait until Friday to publish.
Judging by his t-shirt, the guy on a knee in a motherfucking mall food court in the above photo is a Theta Chi member at North Dakota State University. Several mentions of Kappa Delta and her friend’s hoodie suggest the girl on the receiving end of the food court proposal is a KD. A lovely couple, I’m sure. And if I’m being honest, there’s nothing like celebrating an accepted marriage proposal among your best friends like walking 30 paces past a few teenage, pants-sagging mall rats on your way to a Sbarro and diving head first into a large extra cheese.
Okay, here’s the story: this dude orchestrated the food court proposal by notifying his girlfriend’s friends and inviting them, along with his girlfriend, to the motherfucking mall food court. Awaiting them was the worst food court dance routine you’re ever going to see–with a couple friends, one of whom is terrifying–followed by a drop to a knee, an engagement ring offering, and finally, the proposal. She says yes. Fuck yeah.
He recorded the whole embarrassing ordeal and posted it to YouTube.
Now, here’s the kicker: about halfway through the video, he claims the whole thing is an April Fools joke. He says his girlfriend was in on it and he was just pulling a fast one on her friends. Wait, why? What’s the point? Should you have revealed it to be a prank in a different video, like maybe posted later on after you’ve set the hook? You led your viewers on for five short minutes before breaking the stupid news. What the fuck? What’s wrong with you?
Instead of proposing marriage, he reveals that he only wanted to lavalier the poor girl.
I don’t even get it. Watch the video:
