This Map Claims To Show Where Each College Football Team’s Fans Come From
College football fans come from many different parts of the country. Whether they are your average t-shirt fan who roots for UT from some part of New Mexico or a true die-hard Southern Cal fan who resides in New York City, you can go through any state and find a good chunk of fans for a vast number of different teams.
With this handy, dandy map, you can find out if you’re neighbor roots for your team or someone else… Kind of.
Not exactly what I had pictured in my head. Can’t say I’m really buying into what this map is telling me. Just a lot of things that make me scratch my head. Too many UCF fans in Florida, not enough USC fans in California (Washington and Fresno State dominate the state, really???), and, based off social media, not enough Ohio State blowhards around America to validate this map.
Who knew so many Stanford fans came from the great states of Kansas, South Dakota, and Colorado? I can also tell you for a fact that those border towns in Texas are not rooting for Ohio State or Notre Dame. I’m pretty sure it’s a state law that if you cross the border into Texas, your first move is to go to a Walmart and buy a Longhorns shirt..

That patch of ND near western Illinois and southeastern Iowa looks out of place. I grew up in that area and it’s pretty much 50/50 Mizzou and U of I. Unless you count Quincy Univ which I believe is D2 or D3.
