This Map Shows Where Rich Kids Go To College

College is a great time. You get to spend four to seven years away from home to party, pick up strange, and do a little academics to get you a job after graduation. That’s not even the best part of it. You get to do all of that on your parent’s dime, if you’re lucky.

Unfortunately for your parents, college is getting pretty damn expensive. Mark Cuban can back me up that it’s only going to get more expensive with the vast amount of student loans being made available. With that in mind, Business Insider put together a handy dandy map to show which colleges are the most expensive schools in America.

A lot of schools I do not recognize here, so I will assume they are irrelevant. Some of these schools being on here don’t surprise me, like Duke, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and SMU, among others. These are the schools that are loaded with money, as in truckloads of money. I’m talking about the kind of money you wish your dad had.

California’s Harvey Mudd College comes in as the most expensive college in America at a smooth $67,255. Do you think they upcharge so they can make this list, and people will know who they are? Gotta respect that move if it’s true. Wyoming takes the cake for the cheapest on the list, which begs me to ask: Would you pay $25,668 a year to go to school in Wyoming? I sure as hell wouldn’t.

Lastly, I have a bone to pick with Business Insider here. Has SMU fallen on such hard times that we can’t get an updated logo? This isn’t the mid-2000s.

This is fucking stupid. Just because schools are private and cost more doesn’t mean that’s where the rich kids go. Plenty of wealthy students go to public universities because they are bigger and have more potential for better atmosphere/parties/bars. For example, would you rather go to Clemson or Furman, UNC or duke, UT/SMU.

Rich kids may go to state schools. Wealthy kids do not. Obviously you’re too poor to understand the difference.

He’s right though – you don’t see Bush or Chelsea Clinton going to Ole Miss. They’re headed for the best.

Jeb, George P., and Jenna Bush all went to UT. I know it’s not Ole Miss, but it is a public school.

I think it’s hilarious that in the shittiest places to live the most expensive colleges are just the state school.

Have you ever been to Newark, DE? Very nice town, hardly a shitty place to live.

A lot of the more prestigious schools on here give a ton of financial aid, gotta use the net price.

Nice click bait title. This has nothing to do with the income of the students at these schools. Most schools with high tuition also give out scholarships like candy so I highly doubt most of the students at these schools are paying full tuition. Have some integrity and at least give us partially accurate titles on these articles.

Many places give out a ton of financial aid. Also, these prices have to be out of state tuition, because I go to Michigan and in-state full cost of attendance is, on average, ~$28,000

Wisconsin’s number one should definitely be Marquette. With a $40k+ per year price tag, there are a lot of rich kids there.
